Individual Lessons

Music ProgramLAMusArt’s music program offers students an opportunity to grow in musicianship through sequential, individualized training. We match them with one of 20 highly skilled teaching artists who are graduates of nationally acclaimed universities and music conservatories. Instruction is offered to students of all experience and skill levels in piano, guitar, percussion, strings, brass, woodwinds, and voice. Weekly lessons are designed to build the skills, discipline and appreciation for music that will benefit students for the rest of their lives. Recitals and school-wide programs, such as Stars for the Arts and Concierto de Primavera, offer our young people opportunities to share their progress and achievements with family and friends. Students also participate in the LAMusArt Annual Musicianship Exam and the annual Jack Gard Music Competition and Awards Recital for the chance to receive music scholarships.

We offer programs that supplement students’ musical experiences through ensemble work. Over 80 young musicians and vocalists are involved in the Junior and Youth Orchestra, the LAMusArt Youth Choral Ensemble, and the Jazz Ensemble per year. Younger students are offered an opportunity to learn from more experienced students, and develop the teamwork skills that LAMusArt strives to foster in all students.
