Analisa Gutierrez fell in love with the arts at age five after seeing the musical Beauty and the Beast. Acknowledging her interest in the arts, Analisa’s parents enrolled her in the Los Angeles Music and Art School’s musical theatre program where she performed as Gabriella in High School Musical; and as featured roles in Aladdin and Guys and Dolls.
“…my first theatre role was playing Nicely Johnson in Camp MusArt’s production of Guys and Dolls, that role was what ultimately inspired me to pursue Broadway.”
She continued as a piano and dance student until the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts granted her admission. Analisa thrived at LACHSA where she received various awards from the Theatre Department such as “Most Outstanding Theatre Student” for 3 consecutive years and Best Actress at LACHSA’s annual Moon Dance Film Festival. During her final year at LACHSA, she applied to the National YoungArts Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships, performance opportunities and master classes led by professionals in their field.
Analisa was chosen to be part of this select group of emerging artists for YoungArts and through that received the prestigious title of 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholar and YoungArts Silver Award Finalist. She studied in Miami under the direction of top actors such as Marisa Tomei and Andrew Rannells and perfomed at the acclaimed Kennedy Center in Washington D.C where she was honored along with the other U.S. Presidential Scholars.
After a great high school and LAMusArt experience, Analisa will start her higher education studies with the help of the influential Alec Baldwin Scholarship and the U.S. Presidential Scholarship at New York University in the New Studio at Tisch this fall pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Broadway Music and Acting.
Analisa will next appear on television in HBO’s YoungArts Masterclass series with Anna Deavere Smith this coming October after shooting for six days in San Francisco in July of 2013.
