Tiana Alvarez is a multi-faceted performer, teaching artist and choreographer. She has served as a teaching artist for The Music Center and Center Theater Group’s ‘Family Sundays’ and served as a community liaison and performer in “Popol Vuh: Heart of Heaven” in collaboration with El Teatro Campesino. Tiana earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in dance with a minor in Chicana/o Studies. She was the dance specialist for the nationally-recognized organization, Center for Family Life in Brooklyn, New York for ten years, toured internationally with Peter Sellars, studies and dances flamenco professionally throughout New York and Los Angeles and danced this past March in the LA Opera’s production of “Barber of Seville”. She currently teaches full time as the dance teacher at Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprises near downtown LA.
