Zachary Ramacier

ZachRamacier HeadshotZach Ramacier is a highly versatile and sought-after trumpet player, best known for his jazz and commercial playing. Raised in San Francisco and currently based in Los Angeles, the California Native has toured the United States, Europe, Canada, and Mexico. He has both led and performed with groups at the Umbria Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Tuscia Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Angel City Jazz Festival, Victoria Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, and performed with SAINT MOTEL at Bonnaroo, Firefly Festival, VOODOO Festival, Riptide Festival, Shaky Knees Festival, Governors Ball, Love Street Festival Houston, and Bottlerock Festival.

Accolades Zach has compiled in recent years include selection as a finalist for the Thelonious Monk Institute in 2016, selected as the winner of the Angel City Jazz Competition in 2013, selected as one of 3 finalists in the world for the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition, selected as a finalist for the 2014 International Bucharest Jazz Competition, and participation in the 2014 Banff International Jazz and Creative Music Workshop. Zach has also performed with Chris Potter, Andy Martin, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Vijay Iyer, Eric Harland, Terrell Stafford, and performed for Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Jimmy Heath. As an educator, Zach currently teaches privately and publicly throughout the LA area, in addition to worldwide on Skype. He has also traveled to Serbia and Macedonia to present masterclasses on jazz improvisation and musicality at local conservatories. Zach is a graduate of UCLA, and has studied with Jens Lindemann, Ambrose Akinmusire, Vijay Iyer, Nicholas Payton, Tamir Hendelman, James Newton, Mic Gillette, John Daversa, Justo Almario and Dann Zinn.

His debut album, “Solace in Truth” was recorded in 2014 and is available for purchase and download. Zach is responsible for compositions on this album, in addition to composing and playing on tracks for sound libraries in Los Angeles.

Zach is currently on tour with SAINT MOTEL for a large portion of the year, and is a composer, educator, and producer in Los Angeles during his time off.
