South Korea born pianist Julian Jaeyoung Kim is a prize winner in many international piano competitions, including first prizes from Orbetello international piano competition, “Citta di Barletta” international piano competition in Italy, and Franz Liszt international piano competition in Spain, and second prizes from "Citta di San Donà di Piave" international piano competition, Ischia international piano competition, and "Citta di Sarzana" international piano competition in Italy. Also, he made it to the finalist and semi-finalist for more than 10 international piano competitions, including Pietro Argento international piano competition, Verona international piano competition, Neapolitan international piano competition, George Gershwin international piano competition, Seattle international piano competition, Ricard Vines international piano competition, and Campillos international piano competition.
He was a featured artist at the Juilliard summer music festival, Mänttä international piano masterclasses in Finland, Dino Ciani music festival in Italy, Villa Sandra piano academy in Italy, and The International Holland Music Sessions in the Netherlands. In addition, He studied with critically acclaimed world-class pianists, including Robert McDonald, Jacques Rouvier, Sergei Babayan, Martin Canin, Boris Slutsky, Andre Laplante, Solomon Mikowsky, and Alexander Kobrin. He has appeared at concert venues in more than twenty cities in the world, including Carnegie Hall in the United States, Canada, Italy, Finland, South Korea, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands.
He is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree at USC Thornton School of Music under Bernadene Blaha, and his previous teachers are Matti Raekallio,
Angela Cheng, Eteri Andjaparidze, and Jeffrey Swann. As an educator, he held an adjunct faculty position at New York University. In 2022, Julian signed a contract with KNS Classical Artist as a recording artist, and his first album will be released.
