Karis Stephen
Karis Stephen is an attorney at Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, primarily practicing in the area of labor and employment law. Originally from Texas, Karis is a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, both for her B.A. in English and Cinema & Media Studies and her J.D. Prior to law school, Karis did a Fulbright in Malaysia where she was an English Teaching Assistant to high school students.
Karis is also a professional singer and songwriter working on her artist project, Karis Lee, where she has written music for various projects, including fundraising campaigns for the University of Pennsylvania, toplines for EDM producers, and hook melodies for rappers. Her music has been featured on “Teen Mom” and in the “Step Up” web series. She was also a 2023 fellow of the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project. Her writing, both creative and otherwise, has been featured in PopSugar, The Regulatory Review, and Gypsophila Magazine.
