Uptown Whittier was transformed into an arts fair on Sunday, September 28. Visitors to the arts fair were able to experience exhibits by local artists and performers.
LAMusArt hosted an arts corner at the inaugural Uptown Art Crawl Festival, hosted by the Uptown Association and created and organized by LAMusArt Board member, Sandra Hahn.
At the arts corner, children and their parents participated in free printmaking workshops where families could come as a whole and use their creative talents to become artists themselves. Led by teaching artist Zeina Baltagi, participants designed a mold, carved their mold, and then used it to press it with their choice of inks onto print paper. More than one hundred children became printmakers this weekend at the arts festival.
Aside from being a great family day, the festival demonstrated the need for local Whittier artists to show and sell their work. For more information, please visit Uptown Crawler’s website: http://www.uptowncrawlers.com/
