Student Spotlight: Margaret Weiss

photo 115

Miss Weiss is a seasoned Camp MusArt camper, making her third appearance this summer in Camp MusArt’s production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. In past years, Margaret played a Circus Animal/Jungle Animal in Seussical and a Lioness/Stampede Dancer in The Lion King Jr.

In 2017, Margaret was a participant in the inaugural class of Playmaking, an LAMusArt drama program where kids write plays for adults to perform. Her play, TWO WOLVES, told the story of two wolf siblings with special powers who are looking for food in the forest. Alice (named after Margaret’s twin sister), played by Pia Shah, had the ability to see the future while her sibling Max, played by Andrea Limon, had a powerful sense of smell. TWO WOLVES was directed by Maria Pasquarelli at the Scene Dock Theater at USC last December to eager audience members. Margaret is unsure of her future artistic goals, but she continues to pursue her weekly creative endeavors at LAMusArt with determination and talent. We’re proud of Margaret’s accomplishments so far!
